Hello,
Welcome to the website of the "LEBOCAL" Collective.
First of all, we wish you a great start to the new season!
The Collective has just ended the summer with a residency at the Perce-Oreille in Reignier. (goupil@perceoreille.com).
About a dozen new titles were created during this very intensive week and played a preview concert at the end of the residency in front of a packed hall.
These new titles will appear on the next album, which will be recorded during the beginning of 2010.
A new residency is planned at the "Brise Glace" in Annecy during the month of February, 2010.
Our next concerts:
March 9th at the Auditorium in Seynod, in collaboration with the Music School of Seynod (where LeBocal do their weekly rehearsals).
A tour of Germany/Switzerland is planned for 16th-24th April 2010. Among the dates already confirmed are:
April 17th at Festival Suisse "Winterthur";
April 23rd in Germany, for the Jazzahead show in Bremen (Frank Zappa repertoire).
We are following up on some other projects in parallel:
- An orchestra (Groupement Bresse/Revermont), which is attached to the Musical Federation of Ain, contacted us for a project between the orchestra and LEBOCAL.
We have already planned the rehearsals with the orchestra for end of Jan 2010.
- Collaboration with the amateur ensemble Contr'Band (Nantes) - workshops and concert based on the Zappa repertoire, arranged by the Collective (dates to be announced).
- Collaboration with the Canadian group OVNI ("Orchestre à Vents Non Identifié or "Unidentified Wind Orchestra" - a non-profit organisation from Montréal representing a new alternative approach to wind orchestras in the Québec Region). Arrangements around the Zappa repertoire with LEBOCAL. Tour planned in July 2010 in CANADA.
That's it for now, back soon...
LEBOCAL Collective
LEBOCAL is a truly modern big band playing jazz and improvised music. Far from being a typical big band in the traditional sense of the term, the collective has been playing their unique style of jazz, electro, fusion and rock for over ten years.
