Ernie Odoom

soprano sax,tenor sax,vocals

Studied saxophone since 88 with Stéphane Metraux, Charles Schneider and Maurice Magnoni. Studied vocal techniques with Sandy Patton. Born in Glasgow, Scotland. Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from The University of Glasgow in 1984.

Travelled throughout Europe, Asia and USA. Professional musician since 2002. Co-founder, manager, saxophonist and singer with the funk collective PPA+ since 1999. Initiator and host of "The BlaKat Jam Sessions" since 2001 at The Chat Noir in Geneva. Hosted regular shows at Bangkok's famous jazz Club "Brown Sugar" in 2002.

Since 2003, Ernie has developped his singing technique which he puts to good use in a wide range of contexts. (Prize-winner at Vocal Jazz Festival, Crest in 2004).

As President of the Musician's Association AMR in Geneva, Ernie plays a very active role in the promotion and organisation of jazz events in the region.
